Intel plans retirement of multiple Pentium, Core 2 Duo/Quad processors
 

The 32nm generation has really taken over so Intel has set up a time frame for the discontinuance of various 45nm desktop chips, namely the Pentium E5400, E6500, the Core 2 Duo E7400, E8400, and the quad-core Core 2 Quad Q8300, Q8400, Q8400S, Q9505, Q9550, Q9550S and Q9650.
