well I upgraded my fx53 (after I had to do the 5th reinstall of OS for no particular reason) with a q6600, and ran it at 9*333 with pc6400 at its default rating (5:6)
and that's all I'll be needing for years in this gpudominated world

Nice upgrade, it should be noticeable switching to a multi-core chip

Did you get lucky with the VID on yours? Mine does 9 x 333 at stock 1.2 vCore/VID
