Intel, Micron unveil high-speed NAND technology
 

Intel Corp. and Micron Technology Inc. today unveiled high-speed NAND flash memory technology that they said offers data transfer speeds that are five times faster than conventional NAND technology. IM Flash Technologies, a joint venture of Micron and Intel, developed the new technology. Simply called high-speed NAND, the 8GB single-level cell memory technology is currently being tested by OEMs and controller manufacturers, said Micron. The company expects to begin mass production of high-speed NAND technology by this summer, said Bill Lauer, senior director of marketing for Boise, Idaho-based Micron's memory group.

Much as I crave one of these as my OS drive they already are terribly expensive.
I asked ssdisk.euand MTRONs and this is the price list they sent me:

I mean these seem to be already surpassed by this new tech, so how much are the Micron SSDs going to cost?

Is the iRAM concept completely abandoned? If this is the money I'm going to have to pay I might as well get maximum performance.

Considering that those are the 120/90 MTRONs (also know as the raptor-eaters), they are very cheap. I guess this is realtime pricing and the drive is made to order.

If I had a business, they would be the standard drive in all my machine s because the time savings would easily pay off the price. Also everyone with a half-decent salary can afford them too (but again, people want to buy them LOCALLY so availability is a problem again)
