Default Intel LGA 775: Touch me, touch me not

Part III Nole me tangere and keep it clean

THE NEXT PROBLEM solved by LGA775 is power distribution, something that is done by more pins and better routing. The pins part is quite obvious, there are 297 more of them. You can get a Prescott CPU in either guise, at the same clock rate and there is no real performance difference between them. Since it gives you no speed boost running the same core, the electrical changes must be about something other than performance. LGA775 brings you electrical headroom.
