Intel ICH8 Drops PATA & AC'97

The ICH8 family also can have four editions, including ordinary edition ICH8, ICH8R supports RAID function, ICH8DO means Digital Office and ICH8DH stands for Digital Home. The ICH8 will support 4 SATA, 6 PCI-E x1, 10 USB 2.0 w/Dual EHCI, SPI Interface, GbE MAC, Advanced Fan Speed Control, USB Port Disable and so on. ICH8R will become the mainstream product, will have ICH8 outside the basic function, will be able to increase to 6 SATA connection and supports Intel Matrix Storage Technology. ICH8DO is the ICH8R function adds on again supports Intel the AMT function, only can appear in the Q965 enterprise platform, but ICHDH similarly is based on the ICH8R function, but can join Intel Quick Resume the Technology function and ViiV Technology.
