 |  Intel To Face Chipset Shortage In 2H07? With the recent CPU price cuts boosting motherboard demand, it has been reported that Intel chipsets are to face shortages in the third and fourth quarters of this year, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report citing sources at downstream makers. The shortages will result in an increase in demand for chipsets from VIA Technologies and Nvidia, noted the paper. Second-tier motherboard makers will be hurt the most by the shortages since Intel is more likely to supply chipsets to first-tier makers as a priority, added the paper.
