Intel Diamondville can be passively cooled

Intel’s second generation low-cost platform codenamed Diamondville can be passively cooled. It comes in the second half of 2008 and it will help you create the ultimate silent machine.

It is based on a new 45nm CPU that comes as a single and dual core, and it targets the performance and power of basic PC and thin client market.

When was the last time you got a passive cooled boxed CPU?

It has a lower Bill of Material cost compared to anything else Intel had in this range and the system can work even without a fan. The TDP of a CPU is from 4 to 8W. It will be ideal as a small form factor and we believe that Intel will attack VIA’s micro ATX with this platform.
You don't need a lot of heatsink to get rid of that, they're like P2 and early P3's :)

P3 was 16~40W FYI =-)

More like 486 it seems to me!
