Intel Core i7 870s is lower clocked version of Core i7 870
 
Core i7 870s is in the plans for a few months and this will be a lower clocked version of the Core i7 870. The Core i7 870s comes clocked at 2.66GHz while the plain Core i7 870 is clocked to 2.93GHz, but both CPUs can reach the 3.6GHz with Turbo. The i7 870s has an 82W TDP, while the Core i7 870 has a TDP of 95W, but the rest of the specs is the same. Both chips are based on Lynnfield quad core and they both fit in Socket 1156.
