Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700

Intel has introduced the consumer markets first quad-core processor.
That's right; four cores that will handle four simultaneous threads.
What does that mean for consumers? It means that power users who are
photo and video editors, modeling specialists and animators will be
in heaven as many applications in those industries will exploit the
full potential of having four cores. For casual users and gamers
alike, there will be almost no difference between a single, dual or
quad-core processor
