Default Intel to build $605m chip plant in Vietnam

CHIPZILLA has sought permission to build a microchip plant worth $605 million in Vietnam.
The Vietnamese government is not saying much on the matter, other than the fact it has received Intel’s paperwork. Intel is not saying anything either.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment's Foreign Investment Department said the project of this size needed the consideration of several government ministries and the prime minister will have the final decision. A license could be issued within 45 days.

According to a Vietnamese newspaper Thursday's Youth, the plant, which will produce microchips and computer parts, will be built on 115 acres of land in a high-tech park in Ho Chi Minh City, It will employ 2,000 people.
