Default Intel bags a smartwatch

Fashion bag maker Intel is branching out into another range of accessories.

According to Chipzilla's chief technology officer Justin "it's not crap" Rattner the company is working on a smartwatch.

The high-tech timepiece is one of a range of "experimental devices in the lab" rhw CTO said,

Rattner claimed that it was part of the chip firm's exploration of "novel display devices".

Rattner told the Bloomberg Next Big Thing conference that the watch is something that you can put the time on or look at a text.

According to Slashgear, he did not come up with other details about the smartwatch but the fact that he mentioned it, resulted in frenzied speculation from the Tame Apple Press.

For a while now there have been rumours that Apple was working with Intel on its iWatch. The Apple Fanboys are already readying their tents to form an orderly queue to buy it.

Last week the rumour was the Intel/Apple watch was to have a 1.5-inch PMOLED display and to hook up to an iPhone via low-power Bluetooth 4.0.

However it would be a little odd for Intel to be working with Apple on this particular technology. After all any microwatch would cheerfully use phone technology and chips which Apple has its own access to.
