 |  Intel 915x, 925x: LGA, DDR2, PCI-E Solution We were lucky to manage to get our hands on all of the avaliable products to fully evaluate the new Intel solution. 15 CPUs (Including 6 LGA Solutions), All of NVIDIAs PCI-E lineup, some Love from ATis, and also the 2 Intel Chipsets. What did we think? Well...... The fears surrounding the operation of the socket itself are unfounded, at least in this reviewers eyes, my cack-handed penchant for mishandling hardware not troubling the new socket one bit. Looking forward, a drop in DDR-II prices and mass market retail availability of PCI Express graphics cards, alongside their AGP counterparts, may sway some people towards the delights an ICH6-equipped board will hold. THE way to go is socket 754 for performance and availability and payability...

| "fantastic" is not 400-500Mhz OC fantastic is 1000-1200Mhz like the 2.4 hitting 3.6ghz.

| Or, 2A hitting 3.3 Ghz, XP1700+ hitting 2.2 to 2.4 Ghz With air cooling only. From what I gathered; LGA775 + PCIe + DDR2 = waste of money = intangeble increase in performance over current Northwood + good Vcard + Good PC4000. OC in 400-500mhz without the high thermal output or a 40C load temp at default Vcore using $15 HSF = fantastic This is really the fun time ......  Go ahead ,,,, jump into the pit with the tiger.... I'll be right behind you ....... to close the gate. I'd rather wait for the P4 M. :grr: Granted, Presoctt at current S478 overclocks a bit better than Northwood. But, bench mark has been done that scaling over 4 Ghz is still behind Northwood. Intel sounds like kicking the dead horse one more time. Unless, thermal output is reduced and board socket for repeated installation is proven reliable .... I'll be watching on the side line.

| amd locks multis, intel stop fsb OCing and locks multi's (since the beginning)... it's going to get difficult.
