HWBot.org nearing v2 release - World´s Overclocking Record Database

HWBot.org has quickly become the world leading benchmark record database, covering CPU and Video Cards results, ranging from 3DMark to SuperPI and many others. Competition is fierce with different online forums competing for the top rank, as well as individual overclockers searching for their 15 minutes of fame.

The latest release of HWBot is up to 1.9.5, not far off from the magical v2.0 which will bring a truckload of new features, nonetheless you'll see that with 1.9.5 many improvements have been made by HWBot's main driving force Frederik aka Richbastard.

Let's take a look at some of the new features.

hwbot 1.9.5 updates:
  • uploading a screenshot when submitting results at the HWBot site
  • hardware database and information displaying improved in many ways
  • many bugs removed from the engine, providing better hardware matching, and a faster site.

Some of the upcoming 1.9.6 updates:
  • complete website design overhaul, in order to prepare for V2.0
  • Dynamic Avatar and Signature generator

From the user perspective the most interesting updates are probably the new hwbot picture features.

Uploading pics with submissions

It's now possible to upload pictures with the result submissions. The picture gets an embedded field showing the ranking and other information of the entry. The picture gets updated as the rankings change. Here you can see my result with a Powercolor X1900GT which is ranked #1 in that benchmark on that video card series.

More info on this feature can be read here.

hardware browsing

has been improved to display the current World Record holder, the average overclock and detailed specifications.

This feature is not ready yet for public but it's in beta right now, it will have great flexibility.

The benchmark rankings can also be written on an uploaded image like this:

So check out www.hwbot.org and browse the Current World records of different hardware and benchmarks, some crazy scores are surely to be found there.
