| Honor V20 (View 20) officially announced in China 48MP phone coming to Europe in January As teased earlier, Honor V20, or the View 20 as it will be known outside of China, has been officially announced with an in-screen front camera, and a 48-megapixel rear camera. The Honor V20 is based around a 6.4-inch 1080p resolution screen, with a 19.25:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Huawei Kirin 980 SoC, paired up with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 250GB of internal storage. Due to the rather strange choice of screen, it lacks a finger scanner under the screen but uses a standard one at the back. The Honor V20 is the first phone with an in-screen front 25-megapixel f/2.0 aperture selfie camera. Honor was quite proud on the whole process of manufacturing such display where only the light guide plate was cut while the rest of the layers were left intact, so the camera actually does not physically penetrate the display. In addition to the punch-hole front snapper, Honor equipped the V20 with the whole new 48-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture) rear camera with a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor with Quad-Bayer array for better HDR 12-megapixel night shots. The back also includes the 3D ToF sensor which, alongside the Kirin 980 SoC, enables 3D body shaping, something that Honor calls AI Vision. In case you are wondering, the Honor V20 measures at 156.9x75.4x8.1mm and weighs 180g, which is not so bad considering the hefty 4,000mAh battery. It also comes with a new back panel with a stylized letter V which changes colors depending on the viewing angle and comes in three color options, Sea Blue, Red, Magic Night Black. The rest of the features and specifications include 22.5W SuperCharge support, which should juice it up to 55 percent in 30 minutes, and to 100 percent in about an hour and a half. It ships with Android 9 OS with MagicUI 2.0.1 on top of it and has all the usual connectivity options with USB Type-C port, NFC, 802.11ac dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and even has a 3.5mm audio jack. The Honor V20 will be available in China as of December 22nd, with a price starting at CNY2,999 ($440) for the 6/128GB version. Honor is also scheduled to unveil the same smartphone for the rest of the world under the name View 20 at its scheduled event in Paris, France, on January 22nd, 2019. https://fudzilla.com/news/mobile/478...unced-in-china |
