High FSB medium latency versus Medium FSB low latency???

Ever since the advent of the Samsung TCCD and recently TCC5 modules which have allowed consumers to hit astronomically high FSBs at moderate timings, the question has come back into play somewhat, which is better, high FSB with medium FSB, or medium FSB with low latency.

As many people are aware, the infamous Winbond BH5 modules have made a re-appearance in the computer enthusaiast market and surprisingly, in the budget ram sector. As such, good quality low latency ram can be had at a reasonable price. On top of which, rumours have it that the original BH5 die was improved upon slightly and as such many of the UTTs seen on the market these days care capable of 250MHz and more at tight timings with ease.

Articles such as this one from Madshrimps.be did serve to highlight the fact that low latency modules still are very competitive when compared versus high fsb and very loose latency modules. However, the article does not get into much overclocking territory that people are constantly asking these days. Such as, would it better to run 1:1 312MHz @ 2.5-4-4-8 or 5:4 @ 280MHz 2.5-3-3-6 or perhaps even 255MHz 2-2-2-5? There is anecdotal evidence here and there which setting is better, and today, we aim to show once and for all what sort of performance range to aspect from the different types of RAM timings.

The margin between good and best is so narrow, the winner is the owner of Venice 3000+ reaching 2.8 GHz without Vcore increase, I'd say.

no games tested? no multimedia tests?

sorry, but SuperPi and Aquamark ARE not real-world apps;
