Last Friday we published our extensive review of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 in 4-way SLI. Our resident overclocker and Hardware.Info Pro OC team member Joost Verhelst a.k.a. Rsnubje, having four of these fastest single GPU cards available at the moment at his disposal, of course couldn't resist the temptation to play around with the clock frequencies.
He ended up reaching a clock frequency of 1331 MHz for all four of the cards. He also managed to overclock the graphics memory from 1753 to 1953 MHz. Despite initial artefacting and a too-high CPU temperature, eventually Joost managed a 3DMark 11 score of 43,514 points in the Performance mode - the previous best was 40,146 points, attained using four GTX 780 Ti cards. Hwbot shows one somewhat higher score, but that has not been validated. Hence, the Hardware.Info Pro OC-team's score is listed in first place in the official Futuremark Hall of Fame.
