Default Google, not Microsoft, drags feet on Intel's hybrid computer

The "open sauce" outfit Google apparently has problems with machines that can run its operating system next to Microsoft Windows.

It had been thought that if anyone would oppose up the Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300 it would be Microsoft. The machine is the first to switch between Windows 8.1 and Android 4.X using Intel technology.

But it turns out that Google is behind a potential delay in the tablet. From Intel's standpoint, tablets that have both Windows and Android dual OS is positive for its business model, and vendors can also increase brand value through dual-system products. Vole likes the idea because it allows it to expand the penetration rate of Windows in mobile devices.

According to Cnet, Google hates the idea and has been dragging its feet at every turn.

The Duet attracted a fair bit of attention CES in January, with both Asus and Intel promoting the device as a way to bridge the gap between mobile (Android) and desktop (Windows). It is not clear why Google hates it so much, other than perhaps users can actually see how bad it is in comparison to VoleWare.
