Finally, I get to play with the Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P, after taking a look at the MA790XT-UD4P and the MA790FXT-UD5P, the two higher end AM3 boards from the same manufacturer. Also based on the 7-series chipset without an integrated graphics processing unit, this affordable board is also compatible with the latest processors from AMD and, compared to many other boards in its price range, works with DDR3 memory.

Looking at all the stuff on the market today, building a decent gaming rig has got really cheap, and the inexpensive MA770T-UD3P might just be another step in the right direction. Can it manage to play the latest games when combined with an affordable Phenom II such as the X2 550 Black Edition? That is what I will investigate in this article.
