jmke | 27th April 2009 20:54 | Gigabyte "Core i5" P55 Motherboard Prototype Pictured There isn't a lot dramatically new to this motherboard or chipset, but we can see a few interesting things. First, the board sports only four DDR3 memory slots because the Core i5 processors will only have a dual channel memory controller. The LGA1136 processor socket is a bit smaller than the the LGA1366 for the Core i7 CPUs. There are what looks to be 10 SATA ports on the right hand side of the motherboard and three PCI Express x16 slots (likely a single full x16 and a two x8).
Overall, an exciting, but no overly dramatic, new motherboard offering from Gigabyte. http://www.pcper.com/comments.php?nid=7076 |
