Some people were able to get a private demo of NVIDIA's upcoming Fermi card, they filmed two systems running side by side Far Cry 2 at 1920x1200 4xAA "Ultra High" settings DX10. For those who've know a bit out FC2 performance, at those settings in our tests a Radeon HD 5870 puts out about ~52fps, average on Very High setting.

I definately won't be surprised if the card is a lot faster, but they also have had 6 months extra time to work on it.

It all comes down to price/performance for the larger portion of the market so we'll just have to wait for that.

Indeed, price will be an issue. I find the 5870 too expensive as it is.
