if a large company like Intel, who make a nice profit with each sale, use aluminum; then a smaller company like nVidia or ATI will surely not do otherwise;

Volume doesn't matter. If they can make a 100 $ profit per 1000 units, by using aluminium then they will use aluminium.

if AMD was able to mass produce their A64 in large volumes they would out price Intel easily; but since they don't have a large VOLUME, they keep the price higher so they can still make some profit.

AMD sells 100 FX-55 at $100 profit

situation how it should be:
AMD sells 1000 FX-55 at $50 profit

in the 2nd situation we all win, AMD = more profit, Buyers = Lower Price
