| FTC rules against Intel US Trade watchdog the Federal Trade Commission has ruled against the chipmaker Intel for its anti-competitive antics. The FTC has filed an administrative complaint against Intel, claiming that the chipmaker illegally stifled competition and innovation in the microprocessor market. For the last decade Intel has waged a systematic campaign to shut out rivals from the microprocessor marketplace. As a result the chipmaker deprived electronics buyers of choice and innovation denying consumers to potential superior, lower-priced microprocessors. Richard Feinstein, director of the FTC's bureau of competition accused Intel of adeliberate campaign to hamstring competitive threats to its monopoly. Quote:
