This wide distribution of power supplies by FSP is not surprising given that they have been in business since 1993 and are one of the top 10 producers of power supplies in the world. FSP is also regarded as a manufacturer of basic workhorse type power supplies that “just gets the job done,” although some of its more recent high powered computer power supplies have been plagued by power quality issues. Today though, FSP comes to us for its first “direct” review with the FSP Everest 1010w.


Through 80% of the unit’s rated output it did well in all of our metrics including voltage regulation, efficiency, DC Output Quality, and noise. However, due to the units derating curve it was unable to complete our testing at our more realistic operating temperatures. As such, while a decent offering for most applications the Everest 1010w falls short of being a solid enthusiast purchase at this time; much like the last 1010w FSP based power supply we saw was.
