Foxconn hiring 10,000 assembly line workers per week Foxconn has gone on a hiring spree, adding as many as 10,000 assembly line jobs per week in Zhengzhou, its major iPhone production facility. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Foxconn started hiring in the last week of March and it appears that it is gearing up to produce the new iPhone, or one of them as plenty of analysts are expecting Apple to roll out two iPhone models in a few months. Foxconn said it will continue to expand its workforce in Zhengzhou to cope with “seasonal demand” but most punters believe it is getting ready to start producing the new iPhone. An unnamed exec with knowledge of Foxconn’s production plans told the WSJ that the company will start mass producing a new iPhone soon. Foxconn has more than 1.4 million workers in mainland China and it employs around 300,000 souls in Zhengzhou. The company posted some rather disappointing results for the first quarter of 2013 and analysts blamed the downturn on weaker than expected demand for the iPhone 5. http://news.techeye.net/business/fox...rkers-per-week |
