Foxconn Avenger, not another P45 board
Today we received a P45 board form Foxconn. Out there there are all hype for the X58, but not everyone going for enthusiast, P45 will still exist for a long time. So rolling out a new P45 is necessary. This Avenger have been talked for a long time, and now the launch day is near.
Avenger is different from ordinary P45. The LGA 775 slot have been turned 90 degree, make room for P45 chipset. The P45 chipset have been place between LGA 775 and DDR2 memory slot, shortening the distance between each other. The special design can lower the latency of data links. Of course, we should run some benchmark to see its actual performance.
Also you can see a PLX chip between PCIe #1 and PCIe #2. You can also find the same chip in HD 4870 X2, it provides extra PCIe lane for PCIe graphic cards, so you can run X16 Crossfire on this board.
