But there is no information yet about the two versions (Gamers and Server edition) on the WD home site. Western Digital Raptor 150GB SATA2 16MB 10000RPM GAMER Western Digital Raptor 150GB SATA2 16MB 10000RPM SERVER There isn't anymore information I'm afraid because they are so new. but 150 MB, SATA2, 16MB, 10K, (and hopefully NCQ), it's gonna be something to have next year. | so what you both are saying is that FASTER and LARGER hard drives ain't no good? seriously, have you actually thought about what you are saying? the HDD is the bottleneck of the current PC; having a faster HDD in there will speed up EVERYTHING /me speaks of experience with WD 74GB Raptor

| I think the major boost will come when we get decent, affordable solid state drives for the Operating system. then there will be no tradeoff for speed and noise |

| what I meant was that most people who want FAST harddrives already own multiple raptor 74's. and we all have BIG backup/data drives too... the increase in speed probably will be only marginal over current raptors...

| my 74Gb raptor is full atm and having one large drive vs lots of smaller ones is always easier to work with. so yes, the introduction of the 150Gb Raptor is a good thing, even if it only helps to push down the price of the current 36/74GB versions

| if they increased the density of the data, the drive should be faster it's the case for the 200/250 GB Spinpoints, the 250 is faster because of the higher density |
