Default First Larrabee discrete graphics products are due in the late 2009/2010

Perhaps the most interesting part of today's IDF announcement, which I almost overlooked, was the following line from Intel's press release: "The first Larrabee discrete graphics products are due in the late 2009/2010 timeframe."

Late 2009? Really? My understanding—and some Googling confirms this—was that Larrabee was due out in 2010 at the earliest, so this appears to hint that Intel may be accelerating the Larrabee launch schedule. If it is indeed the case that Larrabee will launch near the end of this year, we should expect a working demonstration of a prototype relatively soon. In fact, I wonder why we haven't seen one already.
