Final Fantasy VII Kickstarter Removed Over Copyright
 

Square Enix has put the kibosh on plans to raise $400K to finance a live-action fan project on Kickstarter. Square Enix stated that the 'tribute' series had no right to use copyrighted intellectual property and the unauthorized project could have a negative effect on any future Final Fantasy endeavors. "The project itself is in infringement of our copyrights and should be removed in its entirety from Kickstarter."
