Fable When I first heard of Peter Molyneux's new project, Fable, I was a bit skeptical. His previous masterpiece, Black & White, in which the player played the role of a God, was overly hyped up to be a revolutionary step in AI and behavorial science in games. It claimed this by giving the player a "beast" to teach and mold into their own personal, worldly mascot. At the same time, Black & White boasted to have a rich and open ended character development system, allowing the player to be a "good" or "evil" God and shape his/her world in that image. The dissapointing reality is that Black & White ended up being a difficult to play, ultimately boring real time strategy game with a glorified Neopet on the side. This experience left a horribly bad taste in my mouth and a bit of skepticism about Lionhead and Molyneux. Such skepticism is now completely and entirely gone.
