 |  Today size of HDD = status of PC guru More Guru = more large size HDD sales Stripping down all my 30 years of work into text format = > 10Mb of data. How about a couple of HDD crashes will make most people rethink their collection of "data"

| I have heard of that nightmare. Sudden HDD death!  Has never happened to me. I hope it never does. Happened to someone I know. He lost 200GB of Mp3, almost went  What can we do to protect ourselvers oh great, old and wise Guru?  |

| Nah, too immobile for my taste. Do you think I got 250GB+ MP3 collection by telling people to come over to my house to upload their data?  Can you (at least theoretically) achieve RAID 1 with say external SATA disks? |
