Default eVGA releases superclocked 7900GT - 580/1580Mhz (reference 450/1320!)

Brea, California and Munich, Germany - May 16, 2006 — EVGA Corporation, one of the leading-edge 3D processor and motherboard manufacturers, today announced the latest model in its premier product family, the EVGA e-GeForce 7900 GT KO.

Designed for ExtremeHD gaming, the EVGA e-GeForce 7900 GT KO (or "Knock-Out") edition further improves on the already amazing performance of the 7900 GT by adding an innovative high-efficiency thermal solution featuring a copper heatsink and fan. Gamers will appreciate the higher clock speeds and improved performance made possible by this new and improved cooling solution exclusively from EVGA.

Furthermore, the e-GeForce 7900 GT KO has now been SUPERCLOCKED™ to run at our fastest clock speeds (2nd only to our exclusive Signature Series™). With a core clock speed of 580 MHz and 1580 MHz effective memory clock speed, we have managed to improve upon the e-GeForce 7900 GT KO's already amazing performance.

The entire EVGA e-GeForce 7900 product family is NVIDIA® SLI™-Ready, featuring dual-link DVI-I output connectors (dual dual-link TMDS) and two DVI-to-VGA adapters to support any combination of digital or analog high resolution displays up to 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) with HDTV output.

The EVGA e-GeForce 7900 GT KO SUPERCLOCKED™ edition will be available in both standard and SuperClocked™ versions. Here are a few highlights:

• The memory is now covered by the innovative EVGA copper heatsink and fan, which allows for better cooling (6 degrees Celsius, on average).
• A hand-selected single NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT 3D processor and 256MB of qualified high-performance DDR3 display memory.
• The board is EVTweaked™ to run at a 580MHz core clock and 1580MHz effective memory clock.

Products will be available starting May 16, 2006 through EVGA's worldwide distribution network.

Default

Pretty impressive clock speeds, at higher resolutions it will surely pay of as the GPU is put under load, in this comparo of an overclocked Asus vs reference 7900GT you can already see a nice FPS boost, and that's with a core speed of only 520Mhz, eVGA adds another 60.
