I also forgot to mention that GPU clients still require CPU overhead... so having additional CPU power to run a GPU or two while folding would work best. Just one GPU client can slow down the bigadv folding to knock 10,000 or more points off the early completion bonus. All bigadv units have a variable bonus, and an overall 6 day deadline. Must finish the WU inside 4 days to get any bonus. Bigadv works on as many as 32-core systems...

Leeghoofd, I'll PM you the details + links This requires a 64bit Linux install, native or virtual machine. (I use a VM).

well, we ran F@H when a daily output of 100-200 with multiple PCs was high

So did I, but today you can configure the client for more advanced projects... even single-core CPU's can do them. My Pentium M laptop generates around 275 PPD.

I don't fold with any older machines today, power costs are not worth it when a modern computer is 30x+ faster + can do GPU work on the side. The higher the system hardware requirements for larger project sizes, and the faster the completion time both will raise the PPD that can be attained from different projects. Bigadv for example requires 6GB of RAM.
