Default eVGA goes extreme, P55 Classified features onboard voltmeter

The EVGA P55 Classified 200 motherboard is designed for the ultra enthusiast. With such features as a 10 Phase Digital PWM, 2x8pin CPU connectors that can provide up to 600w of power to the CPU, a 300% increase in socket gold content, high quality LICC capacitors in the CPU cavity, EVGA EVbot support, 3-Way SLI, Triple BIOS, and heck, even an embedded Volt Meter, you can tell this is the best P55 motherboard in the world!

Hmm, would love to know if that claim on the gold content was true, is a lot of power and very fine, high frequency signaling to all be going through those small gold contact springs. Will be interesting to see if this translates into better overclocking results.

The voltmeter looks neat, I wonder how accurate it is.

The 1366 Classified was, in any case, better than the competitor's boards in terms of raw frequency; i presume the golden claim is indeed correct

Gold is only good cos it doesn't oxidate, but that's it.

There are better current/heat conductors (copper, silver) around.

Now, my question would be: how much more will this board cost compared to other P55 boards?

the none classified EVGA was spotted below $200, the Classified was >$200
anyway, this mobo definitely is not meant to go inside a case

has more to do with other factors, than only the "gold" as it would be a "too easy" fix

not only too easy, but probably also too expensive

Must say that it's a cool motherboard but I just don't see why they're using a passive NB heatsink on a motherboard designed to overclock and overvolt

Because there's no point in cooling anything but the cpu. There's nothing to gain by going subzero on the PCH

active cooling > passive cooling, he's not referring to LN2

We're talking about the P55 board here, right?

On P55 you don't even need active cooling; doesn't help for even 1 BCLK extra
