The deal is fantastic no doubt, and the excitement over this card is huge, but we can't help but feel a smidgen of disappointment without even running the card. Given, we've become desensitized to these trademark gargantuan leaps that Nvidia is known for making, but we still feel a bit let down. The 6600 GT last year gave the fresh off the press GeForce 6 architecture the $199.99 treatment offering Shader Model 3.0 and far better image quality than Nvidia users had been accustomed to. Not only that, but it completely pummeled what had cost nearly $500 just 6 months before.
