Default ELITEGROUP COMPUTER SYSTEMS LTD IS READY FOR THE PENTIUM 4 WITH 1GHz FSB

Elitegroup Computer Systems (UK) Ltd announces the launch of the PF21 Extreme motherboard with Intel 925XE chipset and official support for a Front Side Bus (FSB) of 1066MHz, so ECS is all set to support the next version of Intel’s Prescott Pentium 4.

The four memory slots support up to 4GB of DDR2-533 memory in dual channel configuration, and the graphics slot is the latest PCI-Express x16. In addition to the four native SATA connectors on the Intel ICH6R Southbridge, ECS has included a SiS180 controller, so there is support for up to six SATA hard drives in various Raid configurations and up to four IDE drives. Intel’s chipset includes the latest eight channel High Definition Audio, and this is fully supported by a C-Media CMI9880 chip with digital input and output.

In a similar vein, the Intel chipset includes Marvell Gigabit Ethernet, but ECS has added in a second 10/100 LAN controller to give the customer the greatest possible range of options, and on the back panel you’ll also find a Firewire connector.

This balance of features and performance makes the PF21 Extreme quite exceptional, but the overclocker who demands more from his hardware can take advantage of the superior cooling of this ECS design and can crank the FSB all the way up to 1.2GHz, depending on the quality of the other components.
