ECS Launches AGP enabled 915X board.

As we know Intel have recently launched their next generation hardware in the form of 912x/925x these chipsets incorporate PCI-Express, DDR2, and LGA775. Of course this may not be good for all consumers - as you may have your 6 Series card, or X800 card and wish to still use it.

The crazy engineers over at ECS have released a board which allows you to use both AGP and PCI-Express. From their press release they state:
The 915P-A has two 184-pin DDR memory slots and two 240-pin slots, supporting up to 2GB of memory. Naturally only one memory type can be used at one time. In addition to the PCI Express x16 graphics slot, two PCI Express x1 slots and two PCI slots, ECS has provided an AGP 8x slot. The result is that 915P-A customers will be able to carry over their current AGP graphics card and DDR memory to their new PC build and can then buy a PCI Express graphics card and DDR2 memory when more products are available and prices have stabilised.
We will for sure have a product in soon and we will let you know if it really performs. It will be interesting if we really see this working and as a viable option. With pricing starting at around £75 + VAT.
