| DUH! News of the Day: SSDs were not mainstream in 2009 Even though sales of solid-state drives (SSDs) and multimedia products are growing rapidly for Western Digital Corp., they both combined account for less than 2% of the company’s quarter revenue, according to the latest financial results of the world’s second largest maker of hard disk drives (HDDs). However, the company hopes to address broader markets and earn higher revenues with SSDs when it introduces new products for enterprise markets in the future. http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/storage...l_s_Sales.html

| Who cares about WD when it comes to SSDs? SSDs however entered the early majority stage and I expect the Adoption to exceed most expectations due to the highly visible benefits. |

| I have velicroraptors in RAID 0 and still debating of getting an SSD in the near, despite the performance gaines with the SSD's. The hit you take in storage capacity just doesnt make it as appealing. If I think I've found a good deal on something 120+ GB's I might consider it Now when SATA III SSD's are in production and have matured some I think I'll have to dive into the market aswell, SATAII models will probably come down quite a bit and I might get one for my Laptop. My 0.02 cents. |
