Dual core CPUs, dont get your hopes up
 

According to AMD and Intel dual core CPUs will usher in a new era of computing. But will they really? We beg to differ, as quite a few things need to be in place first, especially on the desktop. Here's good hard look at the current state of multithreaded computing.

It would be like having a VERY fast car with no roads to drive on.:)

When I look around; everyone owns a VERY fast car (or want to own one).... and they look alike, parked with owners chatting with each other how "fast" in theory their car MIGHT reach.

Once in awhile, there would be places found where a 1/4 mile stretch of road in figure 8 is configured with a "small fee", the owners of the VERY fast car could stretch the muscle for a few minutes; afterward they gather in their favorite parking garage and so the same chatting begins.:)

This is a true story; it happened to me when I was in my teens living in a very crowded small city filled with concrete structures. I moved from the crowded small city long time ago; I now could drive a not VERY fast car reaching higher speed than those with VERY fast car living in big cities.

The funny point is; people own VERY fast and VERY expense cars they call "automobiles" with least mileage usage, because they aren't meant for daily commute.

I will never own a Porsche driving bumper to bumper traffic at an average speed of 25 miles per hour; two hours later when I returned home only to find my left foot sored from clutching the high performance pressure plates.:D

Amongst many things I did:

Setting my radiator with double cross flow.
Adding larger gear box (transmission) cooler.
Enlarge air/fuel intake.
Polished intake and exhaust ports and pipes.
Multi firing coil with 9mm silicon wirings.
Performance cam lobes with high lift.
Balanced fly-wheel.
Cross drill rotors and high performance pads.
Momo steering wheel.
BBS wheels with Yokohma tires.
Urethene bushings with larger swap bars plus Koni adjustable shocks.
Upgraded fuel pressure regulator to match with high rate injectors.

I must say I had hell a lot of fun in the garage.:grin:

I last time I did any high speed driving 140 MPH was going to work at 2:00 am after an argument with my ex-wife.

Come to think of it ..... the divorce has taken away my speeding pleasure.:)
