Default DRAM prices expected to fall

THE PRICE OF DRAM, which always wibbles and wobbles like there's no tomorrow, is on a bit of a downward wobble at the moment. Those clever folk at Gartner say the price of 512-Mbit DDR2-based chips has tumbled by 44 per cent this year, already.

Flash mem price has been dropping for 6 months; DRAM should bottom out in two months. 2 GB DDR2 667/800 are now in the $130 to $150 range. I just picked up 1GB SODIMM DDR2-667 for $63 from Newegg.

Yeah, there's some good deals now. Corsair 6400 2gb kit for $149 shipped, and it'll reach 1ghz with 2.1v & same 5-5-5-15 timings.
