DFI Infinity 965 board - overclocking party

Increasing the FSB frequency by 5 MHz, while not changing any other settings got us up to 475MHz. Then we changed the GTL+ Driving Strength from Auto to Mode1 and once again tried 480MHz. We weren’t surprised that 480MHz worked, but what really surprised us that we were able to do 525MHz with default voltages. At 530MHz the board wouldn’t post. After CMOS clear we changed the GTL+ Driving Strength to Mode2 and tried 530MHz and we able to boot. 535MHz worked, but was unstable. Keep in mind that this was all done using default voltages and E6700 that doesn’t overclock as well as X6800. We tried stabilizing the system at 535MHz by increasing voltages, but it was not possible. We finally found a prime stable setup at 530MHz with slightly increased voltages.
