Demand for Nvidia G80 chips weak as market expects G84 and G86 lineup Nvidia's launch of its DirectX 10-compliant GeForce 8800 GPU (codenamed G80) earlier this month seems to have failed to significantly stir up demand for high-end graphics cards, although the new chips took a lead in 3D computing processing, according to sources at Taiwan-based graphics card makers. |
Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm satisfied with what I have until they make a game I can't run very well at the detail level I want to play it at, until then I don't feel the need. |
an 7800GT is still considered high-end for most, game developers are not going to bring out games which require 7800GT to be sort of playable, their market would be too small; a smart developer makes his GFX engine scalable so the games can be enjoyed by people with less expensive PC hardware. |
odd, very odd as it is a nice card even with its price |
