Qualcomm and Google have announced the development of a Daydream standalone VR headset reference design powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 VR platform.

This time last year, Google introduced Daydream, a VR platform for Android devices that was built right into Android Nougat and supported by Google's own viewer hardware, the Daydream View. Today’s announcement advances the work that Qualcomm and Google had previously collaborated on to enable Daydream on smartphone devices. This is in addition to the Fall 2016 announcement of the Snapdragon 821 and 820 processors supporting Daydream ready devices.
