The most curios results of this experiment (i.e. despite heavy flames lurking out of the case, the pc still runs windows) we've captured on HD-Video.   | I don't get the point, they seem to be using some kind of fire encouraging material to get the fire started instead of simulating a fire caused by a shortage. PC's will more often explode, changes that they burn down are much smaller (bot not impossible!) |

| Actually had something similar happen when I sleeved my first PSU. Half assed a floppy connector and about 3 months later after installing a video card +5 and ground touched, creating a nice flame highly visible through my acryllic window. Ripped off the panel and yanked the Molex splitter off my nearby hds and shut the machine off. In the process of removing said molex splitter I received third degree burns.  So I suppose a practical lesson can be learned. |

| fast acting saved a lot of money, few seconds longer and everything would have been fried

| Why not just yank the power cord off the back of the system? I've done that a few times when things get caught in fans or something seemed amiss with my watercooling loop. And the one time I shorted a molex connector on the CD/RW grounding pin.... no flames, but great flash and some smoke, and extremely hot wires...  |
