Even if your system is fine at 1GB, I can tell you that Microsoft will probably say something like "1GB is the recommended amount of ram a user needs for Vista". | $400 for 2GB of ram when $300 can get you a budget system, and $150 PC is the targeted price to get into India and China market where investors see the growth in coming years. Vista may need 1GB of ram, 4GB if you so desire doesn't mean people are rushing into buying a $2,000 PC. Many forture 100 companies are still using W98se.
