The Corsair HX850W represents the newest edition to Corsair's flagship line of power supplies and it along with the TX750W plug the obvious gap that had previously existed. In filling this void Corsair had a lot to live up to as the HX620W was probably one of the best received early offerings from any brand of power supply in recent memory and since then Corsair has been on a steady roll. So today when Corsair offered up the HX850W they really were going to have to launch a fine vessel in order to fit into the fleet and the HX850W did just that. With its exceptional efficiency, absolutely amazing DC Output Quality, and very good voltage regulation the HX850W hit just about every nail square on the head. The only downside to this unit maybe that above a certain load level the unit does create some noise that is apparent in our testing environment. However, with the current pricing of $189.99 the Corsair HX850W easily represnts one of the best values on the market for a premium unit in this output range.
