I could do without the "aluminum support beams" on the outside of the case but it looks like it was built for airflow.

Do you test drive a car by "looking" at it?

The side panel air duct likely will fit Intel board CPU location; because the panel air duct is designed by Intel and it's partners must "dance" with Intel.
