Even though the processors were available on EBay, distributors and gray-market channels since the 23rd of July, there has been very little retail availability of the processors from the major online merchants. Well it looks like the wait is over for us common folks. Newegg and ZipZoomFly both show immediate availability of the Core 2 Duo E6300 and E6400. The processors are priced at $249 and $299 respectively, which is actually considerably higher than the $183 and $224 distributor pricing. However, once more merchants stock the processors we can expect to see retail prices fall much closer to the distributor prices.

This was to be expected, few products, high demand = price increase!
