CMO To Display 3840x2160 LCD Display at Cebit
 

Gizmag claims the upcoming 3840x2160 "QuadHDTV" LCD display from Chi Mei Optoelectronics will be officially showcased this year at Cebit 2006. CMO, the fourth largest LCD manufacturer according to Mercury Research and DisplaySearch, claims the display features a resolution four times that of current 1920x1080 High Definition LCD displays. The 56" panel uses 24.9 million subpixel (for a combined total of 8.3M pixels) and requires multiple digital inputs to display 2160p -- the equivalent of watching full motion video from 8.4 megapixel frames.
