Building a gaming rig on a budget

Upgrade fever. An infectious disease that can give even the most
spendthrift enthusiast sweaty palms and sleepless nights. You've been
resisting nVidias latest creation for oh so long. You've been good.
But resistance is futile. The rave reviews of the latest kit keep
flooded your inbox. It's time to cure your fever and reach for the
credit card. Only trouble is your a tad short of the Alienware FX60
you've always dreamed of. Stop right there! Save yourself some money
and bring your machine into the 21st century with a few easy upgrades

Get a cheap S939 PCIe board, a 3200+ A64 CPU and PCIe 7600GT or X1600XT, whichever is cheaper, combined with 1gb DDR will get you a system that you can enjoy older games at high detail and newer games at medium detail with.

Strange, this isn't realy budget orientated.
I don't expect a 'premium' motherboard, PC4xxx or LL memory, a raptor, a 7900gt/x1900xt, a modular PSU and an expensive sound in a budget computer ...
