| Big Competition Among SATA 6Gbps Ports At the beginning of this year, along with the release of Sandy Bridge processors,new-generation Intel 6 series chipsets were also unveiled, compared with previous 5 series, the biggest improvement is the native support for SATA 6Gbps ports. The SATA 6Gbps ports in the previous 5 series motherboard are realized through third-party chip.In addition, transmission rate of PCI-E x1 provided by 5 series chipset is only 2.5GT/s(single-way bandwidth of 250MB/s),and therefore theoretical bandwidth is quite different with that of native SATA 6Gbp(600MB/s). http://en.expreview.com/2011/03/15/b...rts/15317.html
